POKER SIDEKICK reads the poker game window, decodes the game table and all the card images and other information it sees, creating a "model" of the current game in memory; e.g., which pocket cards you hold, which community cards have been dealt to everyone, etc. 

Next, it calculates all of the potential hands that you could possibly draw, along with all the hands that your opponents could draw against you.  Since it's a computer program, it runs through these calculations in a split second - and it never misses a hand - it sees all possible hands, ensuring you don't make mistakes.

Next, it determines what kind of hand that you hold.  It then takes all of this information and calculates an overall "hand score" for your current hand and situation, displaying this hand score in a "hand strength indicator" bar graph on a scale of 0 to 10, where 10 is the best possible score.  If just your "pocket" cards have been dealt so far, it shows the relative strength of your starting hand and how best to play it.

In addition to calculating an overall score of your current and prospective hands (the ones you could draw next) vs. opponents' hands, POKER SIDEKICK determines a recommended course of action - Fold, Check, Call, Bet, Raise, All-in, etc, based upon a number of factors (how that part works is the "secret sauce" of POKER SIDEKICK).  Then, it displays an overall indication of what action to take with familiar traffic signal indicators.

So, you end up with a lot of critical information about the game:

  1) Hand Strength - your current overall "hand strength" is rated and shown in a simple, consistent manner, showing the relative strength in every situation:

  2) Recommended Action - what action to take, based upon hand strength and potential to draw a better hand vs. opponents potential draws, along with taking into account other important factors about the game

  3) Hand Ratings - a clear indication of where your hand rates relative to the Strength and Odds of potential hands that could be drawn by both you and your opponents - showing your hand ranked within a list of all possible hands that could be drawn next.
